March Kayaking

Kayaking in Manhasset Bay. Brisk wind from the Southeast. Small sailboats frolicking. Just enough cold and wind to put a little danger into the workout.

Ipod playing Shuffle Songs. Thoreau, Rolling Stones, Bette Midler, others.

Water very clean and cold.

Thoreau heard the thundering Fitchburg Railroad, and lamented that, appearances aside, the earth had not yet met the race worthy of it.

But it still may.

Let us step to the music that we hear, however measured or far away.
